North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT) is a true twenty-first-century high-tech venture. Founded in 2001, it has produced high-performing laminate composite materials, as well as materials-engineering services, for a vast array of industries: satellites, aviation (rotary and fixed-wing), racing (sea and land), sports and luxury watches.

Early on, NTPT developed a new process for building racing-yacht sails used by teams in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup. In turn, NTPT’s sister company, North Technology Group — which invented he 3Di™ thin-ply technology for the North Sails brand — became the leading maker of grand-prix yacht-racing sails. Its enduring mission: to create the world’s fastest, lightest, longest-lasting performance sails.

NTPT then focused on expanding its portfolio, developing lightweight materials for the bodies of Formula 1 race cars, as well as for skis and snowboards. It also created unique materials technology with such disparate uses as ultra-luxury composite timepieces for Richard Mille and the record-breaking long-range experimental solar-powered aircraft Solar Impulse — a remarkable aviation success that relied on NTPT materials.

Just as it had spun off its sailing-material manufacturing prowess to create North Sails, NTPT also launched TPT Golf™, which applies NTPT science and engineering to the development of premier driver (and, debuting later in 2017, wood) shafts for golfers.

François Mordasini’s remarkable track record makes clear his knack for inventing the new products and automated manufacturing technology behind many of the world’s leading sporting innovations. After tackling sailing, Formula 1 racing, America’s Cup yacht racing, skiing and snowboarding, Mordasini turned his attention to golf. Having seen firsthand the need for new golf technology that would free the industry from compromised, table-wrapped, generic “Made in China” golf shafts and clubs, Mordasini developed a signature manufacturing process through which all fibers can be placed at any position within a shaft — the foundation for TPT Golf™ that gives designers an extraordinary new toolbox with which to craft the world’s finest, most technologically advanced golf shafts.

Sebastian Sebayang brings to TPT Golf™ a diverse professional background that has touched upon many of the sectors supported by North Thin Ply Technologies’ cutting-edge materials and services — in particular luxury timepieces and jewelry manufacturing. He began working with François Mordisini as CFO of NTPT (a position he still holds) and has been involved with TPT Golf™ since its inception, and he has extensive experience at all levels of both corporate and startup operations. Although he only recently became an avid weekend golfer, Sebayang’s passion for sports has been lifelong; he played some professional basketball in Asia and is a competitive amateur tennis player. “I could not live without sports,” he says, “and TPT Golf™ is a passion as much as a business.”

Since launching the first Leadbetter Golf Academy over 30 years ago, David has coached players to 20 Major Championship titles and over 100 individual worldwide tournament victories. Seven of those players have even held first place in the Official World Golf Ranking.

With a desire to bring that same world-class instruction to players of all ages and abilities, and in addition to the numerous articles written for publications like Golf Digest and Golf International over the past three decades, David has authored eight books on the topic. Together, David’s books have sold two million copies making him one of the best-selling golf instruction authors in the world. His latest book, The A Swing, was released in May 2015 is set to transform the golf swing once again.

J.J Rivet is one of the world’s leading authorities on how the body moves during athletic activities, particularly during the golf swing. He specializes in detecting inefficient movement and offering solutions on how to improve the required action. He has worked with numerous Tour players, and during the development of the A Swing completed a full biomechanical study and evaluation.

J.J. Rivet is the Head of the Under Armour Innovation Center for Europe, as well as the Head of Biomechanics & Sport Performance at the European Tour Performance Institute. He’s also a Research Associate Institute of Movement Science at the University of the Mediterranean, Marseille, and the Biomechanist for the French Golf Team.
